The Coral

...are James Skelly, Ian Skelly,
Lee Southall, Paul Duffy & Nick Power.

They're a psychedelic-folk-rock band
from Hoylake, England.

This is just a fansite, not the band themselves

I always credit photos and sources
whenever I can, but this is not always
possible, so if you spot something
uncredited and it's your work please
drop me a message so I can add the source.
Many thanks.

  1. Spir: I have an inevitable question now..what is going on with The Coral, or it’s just a break between the members of the band, Lee?

Lee: The Coral are still together..we have been touring and recording since we were 15 and we are all enjoying separate projects at this moment in time. It won’t be long until we make another album. We are all very much a unit!

Spir: So and the other members will release an album?

Lee: Yeah they are working on solo projects.

  10. NME decided to calculate, according to the critics, what The Coral’s [debut] album was made up from. Reviews of the album have been remarkable, not only for their enthusiasm, but also for the many and, quite frankly, downright confusing references reviewers have used in trying to describe its many wonders. Depending on which paper you read, ‘The Coral’ was either inspired by the genre-defying Captain Beefheart, LSD or The Muppets. Every publication had a cool reference point for their review of the album, with the exception of The Sunday Mirror. The best their critic could come up with from the last 50 years was - wait for it - Coldplay. ~ NME 10th August 2002
